What AI does
We use AI tools to gather research, to prepare first drafts, and to build and maintain our interlinked database of artists, groups, venues and events.
Articles and profiles: written with a person in the loop
For news stories, features and the profiles of artists, groups and agencies, a person chooses the subject, reads the draft against its sources, decides to keep it or not, edits it if necessary, and decides whether it is published. The judgment and the final call are ours. These pages show their sources. (Sourcing)
Database records: generated in bulk
Concert, tour, festival, venue and city records are a different object. They are imported in batches and published without a per-record human review — a person sets up and checks the import, not each of the several hundred rows it produces. They hold dates, places and links rather than prose or opinion.
Saying otherwise would be easy and untrue, so we don’t. If you find one of these records wrong, tell us — that feedback is worth more to us here than anywhere else on the site.
Our guardrails
- We do not publish AI-generated quotes. If a quote can’t be traced to a source, it doesn’t appear.
- If something can’t be verified, we leave it out rather than fill the gap.
- A “last verified” date is shown only where the page also shows the sources behind it.
- Cover images are added by a person. Nothing picks or publishes an image automatically.
About the pen name
K-Cult is written under the pen name Kio Lysander-West. We use a pen name to let the writing and the passion speak rather than a personal identity — not to hide how the work is made, which is exactly why this page exists. (About us)
