Minimum two independent sources. We don’t run a story on a single source. Where possible we cross-check facts across reputable outlets, official statements and the artists’ own channels.
Our order of preference
- Primary / official — the artist, agency, label, court, organizer or platform, or an official document.
- The outlet that did the original reporting.
- Reputable secondary media.
- Identifiable official social accounts.
- Aggregators or commentary — used only when clearly labeled as such.
We show our sources
Articles list their sources with an access date; reference and database pages carry a “last verified” date so you can see how current the information is.
Rumors and unverified claims
We may cover a rumor to examine it, but we never present a rumor as fact because a single source mentions it. We separate what can be verified from what cannot, and we note when we’re reporting an unconfirmed claim.
When sources conflict
If a later, more authoritative source contradicts something we published, we update the article and note the change. (Corrections policy)
