The harbour explains the city
Victoria Harbour, the Star Ferry waterfront and the view from Victoria Peak identify Hong Kong at a glance. They also reveal an important divide between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. A harbour crossing can be part of the visit, but a scenic ferry ride and the fastest route to a concert are not necessarily the same journey.
Kai Tak or the airport exhibition complex?
Kai Tak Stadium is part of Kai Tak Sports Park in Kowloon, on the former airport site. AsiaWorld-Expo is beside the present international airport on Lantau. Confusing the old and current airport locations can send a visitor to the wrong part of Hong Kong. Within AsiaWorld-Expo, AsiaWorld-Arena and Runway 11 identify different event spaces; a photograph of the overall exhibition complex does not establish the layout of either room.
Use the harbour day wisely
A Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront walk gives a straightforward harbour-focused outing before a Kowloon evening. Victoria Peak belongs to a different route on Hong Kong Island and needs time for the ascent and return. For an AsiaWorld-Expo show, treat the journey towards the airport as a separate stage of the day. Confirm luggage arrangements before combining sightseeing, a concert and a flight.
