A2O LITE is a nine-member girl group under A2O Entertainment, the label founded by former SM Entertainment producer Lee Soo-man. The group released its debut digital single, NEON, on October 13, 2026 at 6 p.m. KST, one day after a joint debut showcase with boy group A2O SOUL.
A2O LITE belongs to A2O Entertainment. Lee Soo-man’s history with SM explains the connection in coverage, but A2O and SM should not be treated as the same label.

| Name | Where it fits |
|---|---|
| A2O LITE | The nine-member girl group introduced here; debut single NEON. |
| A2O SOUL | The boy group launched alongside LITE; debut single SUPERSTAR. |
| A2O MAY | A separate girl group at the label. An earlier trainee credit on a MAY release does not make MAY a former name for LITE. |
A2O LITE at a Glance
A2O Entertainment was established in 2024, after Lee Soo-man sold his SM stake and left the company. The group’s name pairs “alpha to omega,” the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, with “lite,” meaning light and lightness.
A2O’s official artist page describes the group as girls with different colors who “come together to create a new light,” with each member’s color starting from a moment that shaped her.
A2O LITE shares a fictional universe with A2O SOUL called the A2O Cosmic Epic, set on a planet named Soulite where human emotions are fading. The label calls its genre lane Zalpha Pop, a term aimed at Generation Z and Generation Alpha listeners.
A2O SOUL, a 15-member boy group, debuted the same day with SUPERSTAR. Launching two groups at once through one shared story is an uncommon strategy, and A2O has designed both acts to connect on stage or form units later.
Meet the Nine A2O LITE Members
A2O’s official artist page lists nine members: YOUNG, HIMEKI, VORA, XILI, RADA, MERCI, AYUNE, OA, and AIJING. The lineup spans five national backgrounds.
- YOUNG: Korean, reported birth year 2008 (turns 18 in 2026, based on reported birth year)
- HIMEKI: Japanese, reported birth year 2009 (turns 17 in 2026, based on reported birth year)
- VORA: Korean, reported birth year 2010 (turns 16 in 2026, based on reported birth year)
- XILI: Chinese, reported birth year 2010 (turns 16 in 2026, based on reported birth year)
- RADA: Thai, reported birth year 2011 (turns 15 in 2026, based on reported birth year)
- MERCI: Chinese, reported birth year 2011 (turns 15 in 2026, based on reported birth year)
- AYUNE: Korean, reported birth year 2013 (turns 13 in 2026, based on reported birth year)
- OA: dual US and Japanese citizenship, reported birth year 2013 (turns 13 in 2026, based on reported birth year)
- AIJING: Chinese, reported birth year 2013 (turns 13 in 2026, based on reported birth year)

That comes out to three Korean members, one Japanese member, three Chinese members, one Thai member, and one member with dual US and Japanese citizenship. OA is the member reported to have both US and Japanese citizenship.
Those birth years come from Esquire Korea’s reported profiles, not an official A2O document.[1] A2O has not published a formal profile sheet with positions, birthdays, or member colors, so circulating details should be treated as reported rather than confirmed.
For consistency, the ages in parentheses are the ages the members turn in 2026, calculated as 2026 minus their reported birth year. They are not exact ages on a particular day or traditional Korean ages. On that basis, the reported average is about 15, with AYUNE, OA, and AIJING the three youngest by birth year. Full birthdays have not been verified here.
The Debut: “NEON” and Week One
The rollout spanned four separate moments, which is where coverage tends to get tangled. Official social accounts for both groups opened on October 8, 2026. The joint showcase, “WELCOME TO SOULITE From A2O SOUL A2O LITE,” was held at KINTEX in Goyang on October 12, and the NEON music video premiered there. The single arrived on October 13 at 6 p.m. KST, and the first music-show performance followed on Mnet’s M COUNTDOWN on October 15.
The chart response moved quickly. In its October 16 debut announcement, A2O Entertainment said NEON reached No. 1 on Melon’s TOP100 chart 29 hours after release and held the top spot through 6 p.m. KST on October 16. The company also reported No. 1 positions on Melon’s HOT100, Bugs, Spotify Korea’s daily chart, and Apple Music Korea.[3]
In the same announcement, the company reported that, as of October 16, 2026, the single had hit No. 1 in eight countries and regions across Apple Music and iTunes, including Italy and Malaysia, and charted in 11 iTunes regions and 30 Apple Music regions. It also reported No. 1 positions on China’s QQ Music new-song and popular-songs charts.[3]
The music video cleared two million YouTube views within a day and reached 9.12 million by October 16, the same date the M COUNTDOWN debut stage sat at 5.96 million views.
NEON is built on a heavy bass line, the repeated hook “neon and beyond,” contrasting vocal tones, a cappella passages, and dense choreography. The intro dance break, performed by XILI and AIJING, was created by choreographer J Black with Lee Dong-gyu and Choi In-young of Cream Dance. J Black said he was asked to make the routine harder rather than simpler, an unusual request in idol production.
Who Made “NEON”
Lee Soo-man serves as key producer on the debut. Yoo Young-jin, whose credits include TVXQ’s Mirotic, Girls’ Generation’s Genie, SHINee’s Ring Ding Dong, and aespa’s Black Mamba, handled music and performance production. Dem Jointz, who has worked with EXO and NCT as well as on a Jennie solo track, shares the writing and production credits. Those two are the only names listed.
That pairing explains why so much early reaction compared NEON to earlier K-pop. Some coverage read it as a revival of familiar elements, while other commentary dismissed the sound as dated.
A2O has also tied its output to technology. The label said the debut music videos used 4DGS, a method that reconstructs performances in three dimensions from multiple camera angles, and announced an interactive fan platform called Blooming Talk.
From A2O Rookies to A2O LITE
Lee Soo-man sold his SM Entertainment stake to HYBE in February 2023 under a three-year noncompete agreement that limited his production work in Korea. A2O Entertainment was established in 2024 and headquartered in Singapore, with early activity focused on overseas markets.
On October 25, 2024, A2O introduced 15 trainees as A2O Rookies, sorted by age and gender: Rookie HTG for girls 16 and older, Rookie LTG for girls 15 and younger, and Rookie LTB for boys 15 and younger. The video closed with the phrase “Produced by S.M. Lee.” A2O said the rookies would perform solo or in groups on its channels as part of their training, making the project a public development platform rather than a fixed debut lineup.[2]
Some future members appeared on A2O releases before the debut. MERCI and XILI contributed to A2O MAY’s B.B.B, credited collectively as A2O LTG. A2O MAY is a separate girl group on the same label, not an earlier name for A2O LITE.[1] That documents part of the route from trainee to debut, but it does not establish that all nine members trained together or for the same length of time. Exact audition dates, training periods, and the final selection process have not been established by the sources cited here.
Girls’ Generation’s Sunny joined A2O in April 2025, working on trainee development, styling, dance guidance, and producer training alongside Yoo Young-jin. A2O has not said she individually coached any A2O LITE member.
What’s Still Unannounced
Several basics remain open. A2O has not released official member positions, a fandom name, or fandom colors, and no comeback or repackage of NEON has been announced. How far A2O LITE and A2O SOUL will cross over inside the Soulite universe is also undecided publicly.
For now, the official NEON music video and the M COUNTDOWN stage are the fastest way to match nine names to nine faces. Everything else will arrive through A2O’s own channels, which are worth checking directly.
