BABYMONSTER‘s title track We Go Up has now crossed 100 million streams on Spotify, turning YG Entertainment’s rookie girl group into a real force on global playlists. The milestone arrives less than two years after their debut and caps an already huge digital run for the song.
From the moment We Go Up dropped as the title track of their second mini album in October 2025, the question for fans was whether the hype could last. With nine digit Spotify streams, a record breaking music video and Number 1 chart placements, BABYMONSTER are answering loudly.
Streaming records on Spotify and YouTube
A recent update confirmed that We Go Up has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, a benchmark only a limited number of K-pop acts reach this quickly. Because Spotify is a core platform in the United States and Europe, it signals consistent listening from casual global audiences, not just fans replaying the video.
On YouTube, the impact came even faster. Released on October 10, 2025, the We Go Up music video hit 100 million views in just 13 days, reportedly the fastest K-pop group video to that mark in 2025, and it topped both the global most viewed and trending lists in its first 24 hours. That feat helped cement BABYMONSTER as new generation YouTube queens, with 12 videos now over 100 million views, more than 6 billion total channel views and over 10.3 million subscribers, the fastest K-pop girl group to reach 10 million there. Local coverage even noted that this specific 2025 record was something senior labelmates BLACKPINK did not match that year.
Inside ‘We Go Up’: sound, lyrics and visuals
Musically, We Go Up leans hard into hip hop, opening with a fierce rap section and bold brass before exploding into a chant heavy hook. The lyrics are all about self confidence, with the members calling themselves icons, brushing off copycats and vowing to set new standards for K-pop girl groups.
That attitude is amplified in the music video, which plays like a sci fi action film packed with stunts, heavy visual effects and sharp choreography. The high concept look and tight performance shots helped the We Go Up mini album debut at Number 1 on the iTunes Worldwide Albums chart and top Korea’s Circle Chart in its first week, while Hanteo rankings put BABYMONSTER at the top in Japan and China. It is the group’s third major release, following debut mini BABYMONS7ER in April 2024, studio album DRIP that November and the 2025 singles Ghost and Hot Sauce.
From debut rookies to global hype builders
The seven member group, Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora and Chiquita, debuted under YG Entertainment on April 1, 2024, and media quickly framed BABYMONSTER as BLACKPINK’s successors and new monsters of K-pop.
Since then they have added a studio album, a world tour, the punchy We Go Up mini and an OPPO Reno16 campaign, and the 100 million Spotify streams show that global listeners are fully catching on.
