BTS’ Jungkook tops K-Brand Index over G-Dragon and Jennie, but this No. 1 is not a sales chart

Jungkook has taken No. 1 in the latest K-Brand Index K-pop individual category, leading a competitive online-data ranking that includes G-Dragon, aespa’s Karina, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie.

The result puts BTS’ youngest member at the center of a major K-pop conversation, but it is not a sales chart or a streaming race. The Jungkook K-Brand Index ranking tracks online attention, making the distinction just as important as the No. 1 finish.

Jungkook Takes No. 1 in K-Brand Index

The Asia Brand Research Institute placed Jungkook first after analyzing 423,183,352 pieces of online big data collected from June 1 through June 30. The candidate pool covered the 30 most-searched K-pop individuals on portal sites.

Jungkook’s win reflects continued public interest and the strength of his global fandom across online spaces. The institute said individual artist value has become increasingly important across music, performances, short-form content, social media, fandom activity, and digital platform consumption.

It is also a separate result from an earlier 2026 first-half K-Brand Index report, which likewise put Jungkook at No. 1 using a January through May data period. The June ranking should be read as its own snapshot rather than a combined score.

Who Jungkook Ranked Above

The new list brings together established icons, current chart fixtures, and newer-generation names, underlining how crowded the individual-idol conversation has become. Jungkook led the following top 10:

Jennie’s fourth-place finish and Karina’s third-place position show the range of influence measured by the index, where music exists alongside fashion, platforms, and social conversation. V’s appearance at No. 8 also gives BTS two members in the top 10.

What the Jungkook Ranking Actually Measures

The K-Brand Index is an online-data attention index, not a direct measure of album sales, streams, concert tickets, endorsement revenue, or a public popularity vote. The institute said the June category used online index figures and did not include offline data.

That context matters for fans looking at Jungkook’s solo impact. The No. 1 result points to a powerful digital footprint, but it does not settle every debate about commercial performance or overall popularity across every market.
