SEVENTEEN’s Dino drops Love Sick MV teaser as Picheolin, and one line has CARATs rethinking this alter ego

SEVENTEEN’s Dino has fully stepped into his alter ego Picheolin in the first Love Sick music video teaser, teasing a strange, funny, and emotional solo universe. Dropped on July 14 at midnight KST, the clip sets up “Love Sick (narr. Lee Moon Sae)” as his solo era’s opening track.

For CARATs and newer K-pop fans, the teaser is the clearest look yet at how Dino will turn a long running gag character into a full project. Legendary singer Lee Moon-sae’s narration immediately deepens the mood, hinting that this quirky persona is carrying real heartbreak.

First look at Dino’s ‘Love Sick’ MV teaser as Picheolin

The Dino “Love Sick” MV teaser, released under the name Picheolin, arrived ahead of the full single drop on July 15 at 6 p.m. KST, or 5 a.m. ET. The short clip highlights Lee Moon-sae’s gentle voice over shots of Dino already in character as an older, small town music producer.

He delivers the line, “All farewells are painful,” a simple sentence that instantly frames Love Sick as a breakup story, not just a novelty song. Paired with Picheolin’s retro styling, it hints at a trot influenced, sentimental sound that leans into nostalgia and everyday drama.

The teaser keeps most of the plot hidden, but Dino’s physical transformation is clear, from his hair and glasses to the way he moves as a loud yet affectionate neighborhood “uncle.” It feels less like a one off skit and more like the pilot episode of a whole Picheolin series.

Who is Picheolin in SEVENTEEN’s world

Picheolin, or Pi Cheolin, first appeared in SEVENTEEN’s 2021 CARATLAND VCRs as a 53 year old, fashion obsessed producer with dramatic “Eyes of Love” reactions. He resurfaced in Going SEVENTEEN and later joined BSS for a playful “Fighting” stage, growing from random skit into one of the group’s most recognizable comedy characters.

Agency Pledis Entertainment describes Pi Cheolin as a persona that blends into everyday life and brightens it with cheerful rhythm, matching his street level hit maker image and the retro “gilboard” charts that inspired the title 吉BOARD (Gilboard). As Dino’s first full solo EP after Wait and Trigger (DINO Solo), the project has sparked debate about using a comic alter ego, but the Love Sick teaser suggests he is steering Picheolin toward something more heartfelt.
