BTS packed 130,000 fans into London for ARIRANG, and this turnout hints at post-enlistment power in the UK

BTS just turned north London into a purple ocean, drawing around 130,000 fans across two sold-out ARIRANG world tour shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Promoter Live Nation and the group’s agency confirmed about 65,000 attendees per night, the highest concert turnout the venue has seen since it opened in 2019.

The July 6 to 7 dates were BTS’s first solo UK concerts as a full group since their history-making Wembley Stadium shows in 2019, and an early test of their pull after a long break for mandatory military service. London did not just pass that test, it set a new stadium record and turned the city itself into an ARIRANG playground.

BTS Pack 130,000 Fans Into Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

BigHit Music said tickets for the London stop of BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG sold out immediately, with Live Nation reporting around 65,000 fans at each show. The two-night run set a new concert attendance record for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, underscoring how rare it is for any act to sustain this scale seven years after their last UK appearance.

The group leaned into that history on stage. “We are once again reminded of the emotion we felt at Wembley Stadium seven years ago,” the members said through the agency. “We had an incredible time thanks to your passion.”

The setlist blended the new era with legacy hits: fresh tracks from their fifth full-length album, including Hooligan, Normal and Swim, sat next to older anthems like IDOL and FIRE. A 360 degree in-the-round stage kept every section of the stadium close, visually reinforcing the idea that BTS are performing for a global crowd, not just a front row.

The ARIRANG world tour launched in April in Goyang, just northwest of Seoul, and moves on to Munich next as part of a European leg. BigHit Music is promoting the run as the largest tour in K-pop history, with plans for more than 30 cities and over 80 shows through early 2027.

What London Says About BTS After Enlistment

London’s turnout lands at a pivotal point in the group’s timeline:

  • 2019: Sold-out Wembley Stadium shows introduce BTS to UK stadium history.
  • 2022: Group activities pause as members begin mandatory military service.
  • March 20, 2026: ARIRANG, their first full-group studio album since the hiatus, is released.
  • April 2026: The ARIRANG world tour opens in Goyang, then reaches London in July.

On charts, ARIRANG debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 641,000 equivalent album units, the biggest U.S. week of BTS’s career and the largest for any group in the chart’s units era. Lead single SWIM opened at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving them a simultaneous No. 1 album and single.

UK critics matched those numbers with praise. The Guardian gave the London show five stars and described it as a joyful, high-production stadium spectacle that marks their first UK concert in seven years. Korean reports note that Rolling Stone UK also awarded five stars, while outlets like The Times and NME highlighted the energy, live vocals and Korean cultural touches woven through the set.

Inside BTS THE CITY ARIRANG – LONDON

Alongside the stadium dates, BTS THE CITY ARIRANG – LONDON turned key landmarks into part of the tour. The London Eye lit up in ARIRANG red on July 6, and an ARIRANG logo boat cruised the River Thames from the evening of July 6 into July 7, creating instant social-ready visuals for visiting ARMY.

A stamp tour sent fans between Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the London Eye, Outernet London and the Korean Cultural Centre UK. At KCCUK, an exhibition displayed outfits from BTS’s 2019 Wembley shows, while a British Museum Korea Gallery trail connected the new album’s themes to Korean heritage.

Pop-up experiences rounded out the takeover, from a BTS shop at Future Stores London to a Nike x BTS activation at Westfield and a Jung Festival collaboration spotlighting local food businesses. For American fans watching from afar, London shows how the ARIRANG tour functions as both a record-breaking concert series and a full-city cultural event as it rolls on to its next stops worldwide.
