ITZY is a five-member South Korean girl group under JYP Entertainment, composed of Yeji (leader), Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna. Debuting on February 12, 2019 with the single album It'z Different and lead single "Dalla Dalla", the group swept all five major Korean rookie awards and became one of the defining girl groups of K-pop's fourth generation.

Overview

ITZY is a five-member South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment, consisting of Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna. The group debuted on February 12, 2019 with the single album It’z Different and its lead single “Dalla Dalla”, whose music video broke the record for the most views in 24 hours for a K-pop debut.

A leading act of K-pop’s fourth generation known for its self-confidence anthems, ITZY became the first K-pop girl group to sweep all five major rookie awards, and has since charted on the Billboard 200 with albums such as Crazy in Love and the million-selling Checkmate.

Facts

The group's name, 있지 (itji), plays on the Korean word for "to have", expressing that ITZY "have everything" fans could want.
ITZY was the first K-pop girl group to achieve a "rookie grand slam", winning all five major new artist awards for their debut year (MAMA, Melon Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, Seoul Music Awards and Gaon Chart Music Awards).
Debut single "Dalla Dalla" peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart and became the first K-pop debut song to receive a platinum streaming certification in South Korea (2019). ITZY also set the record for the fastest music show win by a girl group after debut.
All five members opened personal Instagram accounts in February 2024, timed with the group's fifth debut anniversary.
